Three Bears in Full House

The first time I heard of this song is when I watched My Lovely Samsoon. At that time I was curious to know what this song is. Does it have any relation with the story Godilocks and the 3 Bears? Why did fans mention about it when it is only played for a few seconds only? (FYI, the scene was Hyun Bin playing piano to his niece.)

Lately, I heard this song again in another K-Drama. And this time, this song is a highlight; in some sense. It is sung as a singing gift to the grandmother-in-law who is angry that her granddaughter-in-law came home from honeymoon empty handed. It is sung to pacify the granddaughter-in-law who was crying that the granny hates her. It is sung when the hubby makes the wife sad and she refused to be pacified by ice cream (due to some jealousy reason). It is sung when wife makes hubby sad, or when hubby is bored. The drama is none other than Full House.

There are three bears in a house
Papa bear, Mama bear, Baby bear
Papa bear is fat
Mama bear is slim
Baby bear is so cute
u ssuk (mimetic word for raised shoulders) u ssuk really good!

It is said that 3 bears song is a popular kid’s song in Korea. Indeed it is a very cute song, especially with the dance moves. In Full House, some might remember Bi trying the American version of the song. But I remember Bi adding the fourth bear more fondly.

There are four bears in a house
Granny bear, Papa bear, Mama bear, Baby bear
Granny bear is mean
Papa bear is fat
Mama bear is slim
Baby bear is so cute
u ssuk (mimetic word for raised shoulders) u ssuk really good!

The Granny bear was describing the grandmother-in-law whom SHK is scared of as she is mean to pretty girls (claimed by Bi).

I have finished watching Full House in 2 days and have some comments about it. Firstly this is actually from a manga and the artiste is the same as Goong. No wonder while watching it, I find some scenes familiar. How similar you might ask, let me list it down.

1. Young-jae(Bi) & Shin both wear clothes that are stylish but with some feminine streak in it.
2. Ji-eun(SHK) & CG are both happy go lucky girl who can make the world change with their mood. At least they make these cool and aloof guys change.
3. Both started with contract marriages. And the guy talks about divorce the moment after saying ‘Let’s get married’. Is really sad to hear that sometimes. Imagine you know you are going to be divorced right after you get married. I just feel sad and wonder at times, why do one get married if he/she knows it ends up in divorce?
4. As usual is a love relationship between 4 people. But Full House ending is nicer in some sense it is more fairy tale.
5. The fighting scenes are always so comical. The jealous scenes too.
6. SHK is always abused to do housework. YEH is luckier because she is just abused to study =)
7. Hye-won & Hyorin are 2 ladies who only realised what they have lost (Young-jae & Shin) after the guys got married. Typical! One only treasures something when it is lost.
8. Bi & JJH are of the same age and Bi's real name initials is also JJH. (that is just pure conincidence though)

The list goes on but I decided not to compare further because each has its own uniqueness. Full House should be an earlier work compared to Goong. And both are interesting on their own.

Anyway I watched Full House because someone voluntarily lend me the vcd after I introduced Goong to her. And I want to lessen my addiction towards Goong. I feel that I watch too much light hearted comedies e.g. Prince Turns To Frog, My Lovely Sam Soon, Goong, Full House. Time to get on to some serious stuff. Hopefully.
