The chairman is a lucky guy since young. He has everything he wants, and it is always the best.
What most people work and slog for, the chairman obtains them easily.
One day, the chairman started to grow a pair of tiny wings.
Everybody felt that he is so lucky. They will whisper to the pair of wings to grow faster.
But as the pair of wings grow, the unhappier the chairman is.
Later, the pair of wings did grow and can fly him. But he is unable to control the pair of wings and he ended up being found in the most ridiculous and precarious situations. All because of the pair of wings.
The people worried for him decided to send him for an operation to remove the pair of wings. And at the operation, the pair of wings suddenly took him away, out of this life and he never appeared again.
In the end, they had a new chairman, his parents died of grief, his children continue their studies abroad.
It is said that sometimes when a child gets lost, a man with a pair of wings will guide them back...
Is the pair of wings a curse to him or a fortune to him? Everybody wishes for a pair of wings to fly. But is flying really the best solution? I remember xxxHolic had an episode where a girl has a pair of wings too. And the pair of wings grow when she becomes more bad tempered, more selfish. It feeds on such things and it will consumes her in the end. But maybe Jimmy is not really discussing that topic here. Especially when the title is saying The Fortunate One. It seems that having a pair of wings should be a fortunate thing. But the chairman was never happy. The pair of wings brought him alot of discomfort, and irritated his wife during their sleep. And yet at the end, the pair of wings brought him freedom. Except he left his job, his family, his parents. Is he really the fortunate one?
