A Stubborn-ness leap of a Persistence Love

Source:
1) Her thought
2)A Leap of Love., A Novella by Catherine Lim

I decided to pop by her past thoughts being the ever curious me. Didn't got too far, I became interested to comment this particular story which I'm quoting here (I'm not stating source but if u wan me to, just pm me):

Once upon a time, there lived a pair of twins. One was called Persistence, who was often praised for his determination towards his goals and optimism which never seemed to die despite all the obstacles he came across. Stubborn-ness was however often critizied for holding on the dreams which never come true, for being a stick in the mud, for not being flexible and open to suggestions.
I'm not sure how she felt when she wrote this story, but it was an apt story to begin on my review of A Leap of Love that I finished recently.

Li-ann first chased the guy with a beautiful stanza that I could relate to.

There is a place I want to go,
But I don't know where.
There is someone I want to meet,
But I don't know who.

Unfortunately, it is always beautiful in the beginning and nightmarish at the end… such that she started having a certain belief that it is better to have bad dreams than good dreams…

It was better, according to certain belief for separated lover to have bad dreams of each other than good one, for the worse the dream, the better the reality, in obedience to some strange cosmic principles of compensation and fairness.

Obession, love, passion, dream. The are all the same because they natured and resuscitated hope, which should be totally distrusted, because it so easily tipped over and become despair.

Hope and despair… is actually two ends of the same thread. Li-Ann went through the ups and downs for a decade. It is no wonder that by the twelth year, her heart has hardened.

It took a tragedy for me to read his letters, and it may be too late. Or perhaps tragedy was necessary, coming in its own time, to soften her heart into giving truth a chance. Truth and love - there could not be one without the other, the heart demanded both, and suffered from the betrayal by either.

Did anybody ever realise that Li-Ann was considered stubborn for the 12 years she waited in vain of him, and was considered a girl of determination and perserverance when she finally reunited with him. The twins, they are similar. But Persistence has a happy ending while Stubborn-ness has the never ending. And because their fates were different, one was praised, the other scolded.

Am I perservering or am I just plain stubborn. Only the ending can determine.

p/s: CL, had some other stray thoughts (probably lost some while making them into writing)
1) Hermit: In the midst of reading Mitch Albom's The 5 people you meet in heaven and somehow I really wonder if one can really be hermit.  Seems that no matter what, humans are interconnected in certain way and what you do will affect someone whether you like it or not.

2) Sundown: 30th May 2009, will we still be in SG then?  If so, should we try out the 10km (luckily females don't need to form team) or try the full marathon and see if we can catch sunrise?  Deep down, I still hope your visa has been approved and you are there already... so that you can bring me away too... Escapist by nature.

3) Blood donation: Haha this one probably doesn't need any more discussion. I had wanted to ask if you ever did a blood/apheresis donations. It was something I wanted to do in the beginning of 2008 but was fearful. I had contemplated doing a hypnosis to donate blood - an initiative conducted by Grey Matter but probably never had subsequent follow-ups which explained why it is already the end of 2008 and I am still fearful and hesistant until I saw the Blood Donation drive ad in the MRT. A kind of reminder I suppose. Anyway I should be following a friend this Saturday instead as Raffles is not exactly near my work area and the timing don't suit. Oh see how.

4) Xmas: My long xmas leave is approved. Contemplating if I should go somewhere... but am too lazy to think... if not, guess it will be spring clean cum a day in Hort Park with you already haha...
