What is your Myers Briggs Personality Type?

After doing the Cognitive Style Inventory

My 4 Personality Type Letters
I N T P

Means : Dominant Introverted Thinking
INTP & ISTP

Rodin's Thinker is introverted. Here these thinkers ponder the apparent chaos of the world in order to extract from it the universal truths and principles that can be counted on. These principles, once extracted, will provide the logical structure on which to build strategies.

They have a finely nuanced ability to analyse situations, find root causes and foresee consequences. They distrust action taken too quickly without the necessary investigation. They are usually levelheaded, objective, impersonal yet intensely involved in problem solving. They are fiercely independent, seeking input and comments from a chosen few. When reporting to others, they need to establish credibility first: their own and that of the person they are reporting to. If the gap in knowledge and expertise is too great and their own proficiency dismissed, belittled or ignored, they will lose interest and motivation.

They are less interested in running the world as they are in understanding it. They are curious and capable of explaining complex political, economic or technological problems, taking great pleasure in explaining all the factors and intricacies. They are rigorous with their thoughts and analysis, choosing the exact words that convey precisely what is meant. They may spend a lot of time defining words, concepts and systems in order to define a problematic solution.

They are armchair detectives, scientists and philosophers, spending most of their time in quiet reflection to ponder truth, and solve mysteries. They may tend to neglect social requirements and responsibilities, finding many relationships to be too superficial to be of much interest.

Block 85

This block is a very famous block, especially for people staying in the East. Or at least for me, it used to hold my secondary school memories. Thus when my ex-classmate suggested meeting there for dinner, my first thought was “Wow, I haven’t been there for ages!”

If he wasn’t going to be posted to Melbourne for a year, I guess I wouldn’t have gone back to Blk 85. I still remember he was one of the first few classmates I know in my Master class. And naturally we did project together. Because he stays near my area, we took transport home together a few times. He had visions that time. He is someone willing to keep improving his job and life. He is someone who believes in early marriage and having a child young. And he is someone who is quite proud of his life haha. Because he knew this course will not help him in his future life, he promptly quit school. And I have not seen him for a year even though we stayed like 2 streets away.

Then another classmate told me that this guy is leaving soon. So we decided to meet at Blk 85 for dinner. When I passed by there, even though it was dark already, I could vividly see the 1000 plus steps. The steps I used to climb down to catch my bus home. The steps I used to walk down with a friend in my first 2 years where we talk anything under the sun. I wonder how she is. The steps I used to run down in my last 2 years. Sometimes my then good friend managed to catch hold of me. And he will always ask me why the rush. I’m not sure too. Oh and the bus stop where I used to wait for my bus. And if luck has it, I would be able to catch a handsome guy. Those were the days.

Anyway I found out shocking news last night. I was telling my ex-classmate that my school is up the hill. Then the other guy heard it and was saying his school too. And we both realized we were referring to the same school. Gosh, to think I had been his classmate for a year, I never knew he was my senior whom I never met hahaha. Must be we rarely talk in school due to the hectic school hours.

Then we spend time talking about the old building and the new building. He belonged to the batch that did the fundraising for the new building, moved the furniture but never got a chance to study there. I belonged to the lucky batch that immediately got to use the new building without the need to help out at all. In fact, for my case, I had to stay in the new building for 3 years because when I was secondary 3, the old building did not have enough rooms for the Sec 3 and they decided to place my class in the new building. Pretty odd I would say; which is part of the reason why I bond with my juniors more than with my batch people.

We also realized we both move on to the same JC. He is really my senior whom I never met manz! And twice! Funny thing is all these while I always wondered why my school gave me the yearbook in my first year when my batch is not inside yet. Now I know why, so that I get the chance to see this senior haha. And I must say he never change…. Wonder how he did it.

But he is not the only “thing” that never changed. Blk 85 did not change much too. The stalls seem to be the same still. The food is still fabulous. The coffee shops around are still there. The photo centre shop is still in the centre of the path. The furniture shop is still at the same spot. I did saw a new hair saloon though. And my senior(x2) told me most of the shops at another area have changed. But I did not get to see that portion.

It has been almost 10 years, the scene may not have changed, but the people have aged…

Lao Tze Dao Jing

Site : http://www.chinapage.com/gnl.html

The only reason I found this site was because I was looking for the Chinese phrase of
"A journey of a thousand miles begins at the spot under one's feet."

That was last week.

And today, I decided to read what the site has to says.....
Some parts that I should remember

56. Impartiality
Who understands does not preach;
Who preaches does not understand.

Reserve your judgments and words;
Smooth differences and forgive disagreements;
Dull your wit and simplify your purpose;
Accept the world.

Then,
Friendship and enmity,
Profit and loss,
Honour and disgrace,
Will not affect you;
The world will accept you.

64a. Care at the Beginning
What lies still is easy to grasp;
What lies far off is easy to anticipate;
What is brittle is easy to shatter;
What is small is easy to disperse.

Yet a tree broader than a man can embrace is born of a tiny shoot;
A dam greater than a river can overflow starts with a clod of earth;
A journey of a thousand miles begins at the spot under one's feet.

Therefore deal with things before they happen;
Create order before there is confusion.

64b. Care at the End
He who acts, spoils;
He who grasps, loses.
People often fail on the verge of success;
Take care at the end as at the beginning,
So that you may avoid failure.

The sage desires no-desire,
Values no-value,
Learns no-learning,
And returns to the places that people have forgotten;
He would help all people to become natural,
But then he would not be natural.

66. Lead by Following
The river carves out the valley by flowing beneath it.
Thereby the river is the master of the valley.

In order to master people
One must speak as their servant;
In order to lead people
One must follow them.

So when the sage rises above the people,
They do not feel oppressed;
And when the sage stands before the people,
They do not feel hindered.

So the popularity of the sage does not fail,
He does not contend, and no one contends against him.

I knew about this artiste on a chance encounter. At that time I was just surfing around when I saw someone introduced his music. And I love it immediately.

Then I found out he is the husband of Corrinne May and he helped her produce her albums. It seems like they love the same type of music, the same genre. Perfectly matched!

I also found out he is a Malaysian who learns music since young. And that he just wants to use music to touch the world. As in his words
"I just want to make an impact on the world with my music. Whether one person hears it or a million, it's all the same to me."

Beautiful!

Anyway, I was in a mood to listen to piano songs today and I saw his name. I decided to go to his website which I knew should exist as I believe he should be similar to his wife who is willing to share her music on her site.

And I was intrigued by his website. The site has been tastefully done. The background is so serene. And his play list sounds so superb that I can't stop replaying them again and again.

I saw his description for "A Lifetime of Dreams"
I really like this piece. The melody sounded a little sad at first, but I think its suggests a reflective mood more than sadness...

It was the reason why I chose this song when I changed my background that time. But because it is an mp3 file, it was unable to be loaded properly. Today I finally reverted back to Google mp3 player which cannot auto play but can at least load the file properly. Spend the whole morning reading about flash players and figuring out how to capture FLV files. During lunch, I felt I had a fruitless morning. Thank goodness at the end, the player manages to load the file. Now I'm left with the part on FLV recording which I hope to figure out soon.

But I'm pretty proud of myself lately haha. (Oops just self-praised myself) Yesterday night I spend an hour or so reading selected parts of a Chinese instruction manual to configure my computer so that the download speed will be faster. Just for the sake of my classmate. This guy always seems to ask for hard to find stuff! Haha but this time is not hard to find, just tedious. Reading the Chinese instructions reminds me to relearn my Chinese once again, for the sake of my vision.

Anyway "A Lifetime of Dreams" really makes me feel that I can realise all my dreams, each and every one... so from now onwards

I hope to be a strong-willed, determined, healthy and fit person.
I hope to be a satisfied person when it comes to counting your bliss, but to continue to work hard for the vision I have for myself.
I hope to keep learning, maybe cultures, maybe psychology, maybe technology stuff, maybe language. I hope to learn and never stop learning.
I hope to listen more especially after talking to a friend about big organisations and how deaf they are. I really hope that if I’m ever in a leadership position, I will not commit the same folly.

But for now, maybe I'm hoping to have Irish breakfast in Ireland... or maybe have honey in Tasmania... or maybe learn yoga in India... or...

Maybe I have to be back to reality and hope to finish my NN assignment first haha.

Ms Shenton's

Ms Shenton talks about 心理资本 today.

- 希望 :Always believe in hope. Miracles do happen. And even if it does not, believing it does is more blissful. “相信比较幸福”-叶天瑜 《王子变青蛙》

- 乐观 : Optimistic. Everything we do, we must believe in our power.

No matter how adverse the situation, you are able to recover because of your toughness.

Always believe you are blissful. Always count your blessings.

- 情绪管理 : Never be a emotion controlled person. Somene was telling me that she has a friend who has mood swings easily. That is so scary. Imagine you were shopping with her, and the next moment she disappeared, giving you a call saying that she is ok and does not want to shop already. I think I will be scared stiff by her actions.

Be responsible to the society out of your own will and not because here is a Fine country.

Eh-Oh! Teletubbies Theme Song

I saw Teletubbies crossing 7th Ave in Times Square in New York yesterday....

Ok I meant I saw the photo in "My Paper" hahaha. And seeing them reminds me of my ICQ days, especially rampant during my JC times.

Remember my friend and I used to Eh-Oh each other on ICQ. Gosh those were the days. Can you imagine a 18 year old girl watching Teletubbies haha. Oh I watched, but only the starting. Because the starting song was pretty funny.

I especially like the baby laughter in the beginning. And the Eh-Oh part. And the sheep singing. When I hear the song again, I actually could still remember the scene. But I think my memory is failing badly. I was playing memory game yesterday, and I had to make tremendous efforts to remember what was the last card I drew. Sighz, I wonder what happened to my short term memory.

Anyway here's the lyrics for Teletubbis Theme Song

John C. Maxwell - Developing The Leader Within You

My stressor introduced me a book to read. He is my stressor because he gives me stress. But he gives me good stress. Because adequate stress can helps one grow. That is why I call him my stressor. And this book has lots of interesting parables and examples. A book that helps me sees light of myself and kept my sanity. I’m glad I forced myself to hide in library yesterday to finish it, just so that I can summarise it today. I think I shall hide myself in library to read next time, feels more motivated haha.

Priorities
Too many priorities paralyze us.
When little priorities demand too much of us, big problems arise.
Time deadlines and emergencies force us to prioritize.
Too often we learn too late what is really important.

You can’t have it all.
He who seeks one thing, and but one,
May hope to achieve it before life is done.
But he who seeks all things wherever he goes
Must reap around him in whatever he sows
A harvest of barren regret.
- By William H. Hinson

Integrity

1. Integrity builds trust.
2. Integrity has high influence value.
3. Integrity facilitates high standards.
4. Integrity results in a solid reputation, not just image.
5. Integrity means living it myself before leading others.
6. Integrity helps a leader to be credible, not just clever.
7. Integrity is a hard-won achievement.
You will only become what you are becoming right now
Though you cannot go back
And make a brand new start, my friend.
Anyone can start from now
And make a brand new end.
Creating positive change

Profile of a leader in trouble
• Has a poor understanding of people.
• Lacks imagination.
• Has personal problems.
• Passes the buck.
• Feels secure and satisfied..
• Is not organized.
• Files into rages.
• Will not take a risk.
• Is insecure and defensive.
• Stays inflexible.
• Has no team spirit.
• Fights change.

Evolutionary process of successful change within an organisation can be summed up in the eight steps that must occur as the organization moves from ignorance about the desired change and the effects it will have to a mind-set of willingness and innovation.

1. Ignorance. “In the dark”
2. Information. Ideas for change not embraced.
3. Infusion. Cause confrontations with apathy, prejudice and tradition. Tends to focus on problems.
4. Individual Change. “Early adopters” see benefits.
5. Organization Change. More open.
6. Awkward Application. Some failures and some successes are experienced. Learning process is rapid.
7. Integration. More acceptance.
8. Innovation. Willingness to change more rapidly and boldly.

The leader must develop a trust with people.
The leader must make personal changes before asking others to change.
Good leaders understand the history of the organization.

Problem-solving is the quickest way to gain leadership

A test of a leader is the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency.

The problem-solving process
• Identify the problem.
• Prioritize the problem.
• Define the problem.
1. Ask the right questions.
2. Talk to the right people.
3. Get the hard facts.
4. Get involved in the process.
• Select people to help you in the problem-solving process.
• Collect problem causes.
• Collect problem-solving solutions.
• Prioritize and select the “best” solutions.
• Implement the best solution.
• Evaluate the solution.
• Set up principles or policies to keep problems from recurring.

Attitudes are our most important assets.
We are responsible for our attitudes.
The pessimist complains about the wind.
The optimist expects it to change.
The leader adjusts the sails.
6 stages of attitude change
1. Identify problem feelings.
2. Identify problem behaviour.
3. Identify problem thinking.
4. Identify right thinking.
5. Make a public commitment to right thinking.
6. Develop a plan for right thinking.
The plan should include:
• A written definition of desired right thinking.
• A way to measure progress.
• A daily measuring of progress.
• A person to whom you are accountable.
• A daily diet of self-help materials.
• Associating with right thinking people.

People - Your most appreciable asset.
What motivates people?
• Significant contributions.
• Goal participation.
• Positive dissatisfaction.
• Recognition.
• Clear expectations.

What de-motivates people?
• Don’t belittle anyone.
• Don’t manipulate anyone.
• Don’t be insensitive.
• Don’t discourage personal growth.

Successful people-developers give the right assistance to people
• I need to work out their strengths and work on their weakness.
• I must give them myself.
• I must give them ownership.
• I must give them every chance for success.

Be a model that others can follow.
Lead others by looking through their eyes.
Leaders must care for people before they can develop them.
People developers look for opportunities to build up people.

Vision - The quality of leadership.

• Wanderers: some people never see it.
• Followers: Some people see it but never pursue it on their own.
• Achievers: Some people see it and pursue it.
• Leaders : Some people see it and pursue it and help others see it.

You see what you are prepared to see.
What you see is what you get.

Napoleon Hill said, “Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”

Look behind you: What have you learned?
Look around you: What is happening to others?
Look ahead of you: What is the big picture?
Look above of you: What does God expect of you?
Look beside you: What resources are available to you?

Successful leaders see on three levels:
1. Perception: Seeing what is now with they eyes of reality.
What hinders a vision?
a. Limited leaders.
b. Concrete thinkers.
c. Dogmatic talkers.
d. Continual losers.
e. Satisfied sitters.
f. Tradition lovers.
g. Census takers.
h. Problem perceivers.
i. Self-seekers.
j. Failure forecasters.

2. Probability: seeing what will be with the eyes of discernment.
Setting the proper environment:
a. Come alongside of them.
b. Pain the picture for them.
i. Horizon: heights of their possibilities.
ii. Sun: warmth and hope.
iii. Mountains: challenges.
iv. Birds: freedom and the spirit of man.
v. Flowers: rest stops to refresh mentally and physically. Success is the progressive realization of a predetermined, worthwhile goal.
vi. Path: direction.
vii. Yourself: Placing yourself in the picture shows your commitment to the vision and your desire to walk with the people through the process.
c. Put the things they love in the picture.

3. Possibility: Seeing what can be with the eyes of vision.
Opening eyes to possibilities.
Ah, great it is to believe the dream,
As we stand in youth by the starry stream.
But a greater thing is to live life through,
And say at the end, the dream came true.
A futurist lives only on Level 3. A forecaster lives only one Level 2. A follower lives only on Level 1. A leader lives on Level 3, leads on Level 2 and listens on Level 1.

Self-discipline - Price tag of leadership.
• Start with yourself.
• Start early.
• Start small.
• Start now.

• Organize your life.
1. Set your priorities.
2. Place priorities in your calendar.
3. Allow a little time for the unexpected.
4. Do projects one at a time.
5. Organize your work space.
6. Work according to your temperament.
7. Use your driving time for light work and growth.
8. Develop systems that work for you.
9. Always have a plan for those minutes between meetings.
10. Focus on results, not the activity.

• Welcome responsibility.
I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the
Something that I can do.
• Accept accountability.
• Human nature cannot handle unchecked power.
• Leaders can easily be separated from their people.

• Develop integrity.
1. I will live what I teach.
2. I will do what I say.
3. I will be honest with others.
4. I will put what is best for others ahead of what is best for me.
5. I will be transparent and vulnerable.

• Pay now, play later.
• Become character driven instead of emotion driven.

Staff Development - The most important lesson of leadership.
• Excellent leaders create the right environment.

• Excellent leaders know basic human needs.
1. What is expected from each one.
2. That each will have an opportunity to perform.
3. How each one is getting along.
4. That guidance will be given where each needs it.
5. That each will be rewarded according to his contribution.

• Excellent leaders keep control of the “Big 3”
1. Finance: because the finance staff is a prime mans of exercising executive control in any organisation.
2. Personnel: because the selection of people will determine the organization.
3. Planning: because this area determines the future of the organization.

• Excellent leaders avoid the “Seven deadly sins”
1. Trying to be liked rather than respected.
2. Not asking team members for advice and help.
3. Thwarting personal talent by emphasising rules rather than skills.
4. Not keeping criticism constructive.
5. Not developing a sense of responsibility in team members.
6. Treating everyone the same way.
7. Failing to keep people informed.

Tears / Nada sousou - “A Stream of Tears” /

In Henry Fielding's novel Tom Jones, Squire Allworthy demands, "Look you, Mr. Dowling..., do not hesitate nor prevaricate; but answer faithfully and truly to every question I ask."

Prevaricate means to deviate from the truth. "Prevaricate" is less accusatory and softens the bluntness of "lie," usually implying that someone is evading the truth rather than purposely making false statements.

I tend to prevaricate but I never knew that because of this, I was condemned. It hurts to hear that from a friend I grew to trust due to recent events. I know I should not brood over it, and that no matter how low I feel, attitude matters and attitude will help me through this ordeal. And I'm quite grateful that he and another friend helped me see light through something though he may not have realised it. Sad that I will lose a friend because of this reason but I have already tried to change. Just that it is too late.

I was searching for a wallpaper that represents tears. While searching, I found that Nada Sou Sou means a stream of tear. Sad. I guess I will not be watching this movie already. There is still vcd though. Must fill my mind with happy thoughts haha.

Anyway I found the piece in http://www.deviantart.com/view/24765660/
The artist is Edgen and his description of his piece of artwork is
Life comes crashing down. Uncertainty, and motivation kicks in forcing you to see things differently. Tears are not always considered a sadness. Some are just beautiful to look at.

Exactly what I felt. It is now my wallpaper and background for my blogs.

Translation

I whisper “thank you”, as I leaf through this old photograph album,
to one who always cheered me on, within my heart
And should the memories of that smile I think of, *1
come rain or shine, fade away into the distance
They return in the days I search for a glimpse of your face, a stream of tears
Almost a habit now, I wish upon the very first star *2
Looking within the evening skies for you with all my heart
The memories of that smile I think of, in sorrow or joy
And if you can see me, from where you are
I’ll live on, believing that someday we’ll meet again
And should the memories of that smile I think of,
come rain or shine, fade away into the distance
In loneliness and yearning - my feelings for you, a stream of tears
If only we could meet, if only we could meet - my feelings for you, a stream of tears

Actually 蔡淳佳 also sung this song before. It is called 陪我看日出

Mum's Love

Yesterday while on the MRT, I saw a daughter teaching her mum some English words. Besides the mother is another daughter. These 2 girls were very young. But I suppose the one teaching is the elder sister.

While traversing the picture list, the mum was pronouncing the English words. For some words, the elder daughter will correct her. For some words, she will ask the daughter how to pronounce. Then she will ask the younger daughter if she knows.

And I noticed the elder daughter sometimes show a sense of frustration while pronouncing the words. Maybe in her mind, she wonders why her mum does not know this word. Maybe she wonders why her mum is slow because she had to repeat some words a few times. Whatever thoughts went through her mind, I can only second-guess. And I was thinking of myself.

When I was young, my mum taught me. In my earliest memories, I believe she was pretty patient with me. But maybe as the years go by, she will grumble why I cannot remember. Then it comes the time where she can no longer teach me. I have to learn myself. And as the years go by, we switched roles. I had to teach her.

Frankly speaking, no matter how exasperated and impatient I was to my mum, deep in my heart, I’m actually quite proud of my mum. Because no matter how afraid she is of the computer, she still uses it frequently. Sometimes I’m quite horrible towards her. I make her switch on the computer herself, I make her try first. I don’t deny it is because I’m lazy. But through this way, at least she will get to learn. And I told her many times, if she really spoils the computer, I have a good reason to replace it.

I’m proud that my mum actually knows how to use the internet to sms. I’m proud that she learns how to trade her shares online. This is something which I don’t even do because I’m too lazy to manage my online trading account.

I’m not sure is it fate that I saw this email on a Mum’s Love. And suddenly I wondered, does she know how proud I am of her? Because all I ever did is to be short-tempered towards her, and cut her short, and get easily irritated by her questions. But beneath all these, I really do love my mum a lot. Even though half the times, I tell myself I do not want to lead her life. But I respect her and her choices in life.

Hmm… should I let her see this post?

If is not for my classmate, I doubt I would have watched this movie still since I'm quite a procrastinator.

But now that I watched it, I realised that there is another song that is just as beautifully written as "Way Back Into Love". The song is "Don't Write Me Off". When Hugh Grant sang that song while playing the piano, there was this feeling of doubt, of being afraid of the unknown. He wrote this song for Drew Barrymore's sake, like a declaration of love.

I have to admit the storyline is weak and clichéd. The only reason why I like it is because of the songs. In fact, I like the OST very much. And Haley Bennett is one hot lady haha. Like what the DJ said before, is just a feel-good type of movie. Sighz but I did not do my report because of the movie... Need to do some catching up tomorrow.

Here's the lyrics for "Don't Write Me Off".

It's never been easy for me
To find words to go along with a melody
But this time there's actually something on my mind
So please forgive these few brief awkward lines
Since I met you my whole life has changed
It's not just my furniture you've re-arranged
I was living in the past
But somehow you've brought me back
and I haven't felt like this since before Frankie said relax
and now I know based on my track record
I might not seem like the safest bet
All I'm asking you is
Don't write me off just yet

For years I've been telling myself the same old story
That I'm happy to live off my so called former glories
but you've given me a reason
to take another chance
now I need you despite the fact
that you've killed all my plants
and now I know
I've already blown more chances
than anyone should ever get
All I'm asking you is

Nada Sou Sou

Site : http://www.festivefilms.com/sousou/

Still remember the "Pure Love Trilogy" I mentioned before. I just realised that Nada Sou Sou is inter-connected with the first 2 movies.

Remember the first chapter was Isao Yukisada's "Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu" (2004). The English name is "Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World". In this movie, Masami Nagasawa is the female lead, the lady that dares to love, the lady that dies of leukaemia, the lady that forever lives in the guy's heart. Coincidentally Masami Nagasawa is the lead lady in "Nada Sou Sou" too.

Then the second chapter was Nobuhiro Doi's "Ima, ai ni yukimasu" (2004). The English name is "Be With You". The movie I had wanted to watch before when I first saw it on i-weekly. And the movie that I happened to caught it by a chance encounter years later. Nobuhiro Doi happens to be the director for "Nada Sou Sou" too. Gosh I suddenly have a feeling this should be a very beautiful movie.

Lastly, the male lead is Satoshi Tsumabuki, the guy who acted in "Waterboys" as the leader of the group. Another movie that I quite like because of the Sea World. I remember them learning their moves from the dolphins, so comical, so interesting, so practical. I like that show enough to actually watched it twice. Not sure if I have a copy to watch it a third time though haha.

Shall see if I'm fated to watch it on the big screen. But if not, I know the vcd is out already hee hee.

Oh ya, there is another movie that I'm curious to watch now. While searching about "Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World", I read about the Korean movie "My Girl and I". That time I did not pay much attention to this movie although I saw it while surfing about "My Girl" (the TV Series). Today I happen to saw it on wiki and decided to read it. And while reading the story, I actually felt saddness and a sense of longing. Either the writer who wrote this article is too good, or I'm too easily touched. And I suddenly feel like watching this movie too.

M for Marriage

The longest marriage in Singapore is 77 years. Remarkably right! The man was 21 when he got married. Now the man is 98 years old and the lady, 94. And the interesting thing about this couple is they don't raise their voices at each other, but they were never seen holding hands either. They say they chat frequently, watch television together, do almost everything together. I guess that is why their marriage lasted so long.

Oh but I'm more interested to remember what the anniversaries are called :

01 year : Paper wedding
02 years : Cotton wedding
03 years : Leather wedding
04 years : Silk wedding
05 years : Wood wedding
06 years : Iron wedding
07 years : Copper wedding
08 years : Pottery wedding
09 years : Willow weding
10 years : Tin wedding
11 years : Steel wedding
12 years : Linen wedding
13 years : Lace wedding
14 years : Ivory wedding
15 years : Crystal wedding
20 years : China wedding
25 years : Silver wedding
30 years : Pearl wedding
35 years : Coral wedding
40 years : Ruby wedding
45 years : Sapphire wedding
50 years : Golden wedding
55 years : Emerald wedding
60 years : Diamond wedding - Diamond Jubilee

Twins -

Twins -

Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore - Way Back Into Love (Demo Version)

Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore - Way Back Into Love (Demo Version)
Music & Lyrics OST

Cora:
I’ve been living with a shadow overhead
I’ve been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I’ve been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can’t seem to move on

Alex:
I’ve been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need them again someday
I’ve been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

Chorus: [Both]
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
Oh oh oh

Cora:
I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I’ve been searching but I just don’t see the signs
I know that it’s out there
There’s got to be something for my soul somewhere

Alex:
I’ve been looking for someone to shed some light
Not just somebody just to get me throught the night
I could use some direction
And I’m open to your suggestions

Chorus: [Both]
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I’m hoping you’ll be there for me in the end

Cora:
There are moments when I don’t know if it’s real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

Both:
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I’m hoping you’ll be there for me in the end

Bflygal's comment : There is no classes for 1 month starting today but I decided to go school the same time still because I felt maybe I could study better in school. And surprisingly I was awake the whole bus journey today. Weird considering how much sleep debt I incurred lately. I guess it is fated. Because it gave me a chance to see the ferris wheel beside Suntec in construction. Hee hee... I shall hope to monitor this construction every Saturday.

And I got to hear a beautiful song today. Last 2 Saturdays, around 3pm, my classmate and I will start to browse GV website and see what movies we could catch if we rush down to GV Vivocity.. Although we never caught any movie but it was fun to see what movies were being screened. I guess I do want to go GV Vivo someday, but first I must finish my 3 reports.

Anyway one of the movie we were "gian" to watch is Music & Lyrics starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The DJ says this story is cheesy, typical love story, a movie that doesn't require too much of brain power to watch, a movie that can de-stress. And when the DJ played this song, Way Back Into Love, I totally fell in love with the song. She chose the Demo Version, where Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore sung the song in the movie. Thus there were clips of them talking. When it started, you could hear Drew Barrymore's nervous voice and the guy asking her to sing louder because this song is intended for human. So dumb right!

Feel like going home to watch the show now haha. Gosh... that's bad news. Must psycho myself to get back to studying now before my project mates arrive.

The One That Got Away

The One That Got Away
Source: The Manila Times
By: Mark J. Macapagal

In your life, you’ll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something. There’s the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you’re with…and the one that got away.

Who is the one that got away? I guess it’s that person with who everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn’t fall the right way, I suppose.

I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing. It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance.

How often have you gone through it without even realizing it? When you’re not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn’t matter who you’re with, it just doesn’t work. Small problems become big; inconsequentials become dealbreakers simply because you’re not ready and it shows. It’s not that you and the person you’re with are no good; it’s just that it’s not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you’re ready. You really are. And when this happens you’ll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it’ll work because you’re ready. It’ll work because it’s the right time and you’ll make it work. And it’ll make sense, it really will.

So that day comes when you’re finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want, and you’ve become ready because the time has truly arrived. And mind you, there’s no telling when this day will come. Hopefully you’re single but you could be in a long-term relationship, you could be married with three kids, it doesn’t matter. All you know is that you’ve changed, and for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about.

You’ll think about them because you’ll wonder, “What if they were here today?” You’ll wonder, “What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?” That’s what the one that got away is. The biggest “What if?” you’ll have in your life.

If you’re married, you’ll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But hopefully you’re mature enough to realize that you’re already with the one you’re with and this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it. Sure, you’ll think about him/her every so often, but it’s alright. It’s never nice to live with a “might have been,” but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who’s already married. In which case it’s the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you’re old and gray and reminiscing.

But if neither of that is the case, then it’s different. What do you do if it’s not yet too late? Simple…find him, find her. Because the very existence of a “one that got away” means that you’ll always wonder, what if you got that one?

Ask him out to coffee, ask her out to a movie, it doesn’t matter if you’ve dropped in from out of nowhere. You’d be surprised, you just might be “the one that got away” as well for the person who is your “the one that got away.”

You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won’t make a difference. If the timing is finally right, it’ll all just fall into place somehow and you know, I’m thinking, it would be a great feeling, in the end, to be able to say to someone, “Hey you, you’re the one that almost got away.”

Bflygal's comment :
I saw this article from Kaikinkitkat. It may sound sad. But sometimes, in life, one needs to have a teeny bit of regret, a teeny bit of "What If". But is just a teeny bit. Not too much, not too little. Enough to make you treasure what you should treasure. Enough to make you feel the miracle of fate. Of course, I wish nobody will ever have The One That Got Away, but if he/she really did felt that is The One That Got Away, remember to wish her/him well. Remember to smile fondly at the memories. Remember to thank her/him for teaching you how to love. Remember that meeting her/him is a gift that Life has given you. And continue to live your life, appreciating those whom are now, your dear ones, your precious ones.

I finally finish Hana Kimi. The main theme is 偷偷爱你. In the end, the couple chose to hide their feelings, their secret. And just continue life as per normal. The reason is because secretly in love is also an expression of love. That is what the male lead says. Maybe they are very happy with the current status quo and is afraid of toppling the balance.

Maybe it is afraid of what declaring might bring about. Afterall if the school knows she is a girl, she will has to leave the school. To keep her by his side, they have to pretend they know nothing. To keep her by his side, they have to suppress their feelings. But they know love cannot be suppressed. Because the truth is, both already know that the other party likes each other. They just don't want to say it aloud.

Maybe it is like the song 懂了 by Tank

wo……yeah

la……

I guess I do love this show even though sometimes I find the scenes over-react and they have too many story characters. Anyway now that I finally finished the series, I hope I can finally be serious in my studies. Hopefully.

Ghost Earthquake

Today, tremors were felt in Singapore due to the earthquakes in Indonesia.

Usually when such things, the east side will not be affected. But today, this earthquake's tremor could actually be felt in the east. And by my dad. Hee hee!

Apparently he was in my room using my computer when he suddenly felt someone shaking him. Plus the fact that he was alone as my mum went out and my grandpa was asleep, his imagination went abit wild. He actually thought that something had come to disturb him. And he was wondering in the broad daylight, how come will have such thing. He thought maybe he was daydreaming but the monitor was shaking. And the toy soldier hanging on my shelf was shaking too. Then he thought maybe is electric shock so he quickly shut the computer down and went to buy lunch. Only when he came back and watch news did he realised that there was earthquake in Indonesia. And he realised that just now what he felt was the tremor.

Because we never felt tremor in the east before, an earthquake tremor was the last thing my dad will think of. But it is funny that the first thing he thought of was a ghost shaking him.

Anyway I heard that my cousin also felt giddiness while at work in the central area. And that the building was shaking. However she thought it was just the building being old and her colleagues all decided to have an early lunch since it keep shaking. Unfortunately when they came down, they realised how pack the building was as everybody were trying to evacuate.

Gosh. I guess this time, the tremor must be pretty bad. Considering some school even cancelled school and my friend's sister training was cancelled too. Hmm but I think I will remember my dad's reaction for a long time hee hee. A ghost by the name Earthquake ....

Ms Shenton gave 7 tips to be a beautiful office lady.
To learn how to conceal your imperfections and to project your beauty.

To show concern is the most touching action and the person whom you show concern to might remember it forever. (Ms. Shenton says so)

Women are known to be the most panicky. The next time you are about to go into a frenzy state, give yourself a tight slap.

Cannot be unreasonable but should not be too long-winded too. Smile when answering and be strict when you feel that this is wasting your time.

Be proper in office.

Believe that your capability is on parallel with everybody.

Stay fit and healthy.

Most importantly, be happy. Ms. Shenton says happyness is like water, it can solidify and liquefy. And a happy woman must know when to be soft and when to be harsh. In addition, a smiling woman looks more energetic. Beauty will then come to her naturally.

Author’s comment : Everybody wants to be good looking, for me, I just want everybody to be happy. Pursuit to Happyness … (By the way, I love the spelling of happyness haha, just feel that it will make me smile more than happiness because of the y)

25th Jan, 无语 posed a question in <<谁多一点>>

11th Feb, 无语 followed up on his question in <<赢得输掉>>

I don't remember when I first saw <<谁多一点>> but at that time, I find it very pragmatic. I did thought of blogging it but I guess I forgot about it (as usual).

Today I saw his response <<赢得输掉>> to that question. Considering that I don't get to read 我报 daily, I feel that it is fated that I actually saw both the comics. I always believed 无语 is a guy and in these 2 comics, he was trying to be pragmatic when answering the girl. I'm not sure if he really is a guy because firstly, I don't really check his blog sufficiently to understand him and secondly, I'm never sure with my own feelings.

But somehow I feel that if I were to ask this question to a guy, I will indeed get this answer. And that if I were to ask the same question to a girl, I will definitely get another answer. Another answer pertaining more on emotions, on feelings. That is the difference between a girl and a guy. The focus is different.

Sighz I also wonder what is fate up to lately. Last Friday, I started thinking about an event that happened 6 years ago. The trigger is the release of A-Level results. And today, my mum had wanted me to pass a red packet to my colleague who collects red packet. But I koped it in the end because it is also related to that event. The red packet was on the Disney on Ice - Little Mermaid, which I remember I went with my good friend and her brother, 6 years ago. I know I bought the book too but at the end of the day, I gave it to the brother. I wonder how is her brother, should be in secondary school already.

Somehow thinking back what happened 6 years ago makes me feel I'm ageing. My friend just turns 25 years old today. While wishing her happy birthday, I have to admit, I am really at the mid-point of my life. And that it seems like a turning point to me. Hopefully it turns for the better.
