Found this blog... from a friend's blog. Would like to try the first method. 2nd method hmm.. ever use lophtcrack... but ophcrack. Hmm shall see see look look.

My friend forgotten her XP user account password. Initially i thought of reformatting and reinstalling everything for her. Then i found out 2 ways i can help her recover.
1. Use Windows Installation CD to do a Repair. When setup/repair reboots with the standard billboard screens saying, "Preparing Installation/Installing Windows/Installing Devices"... Press SHIFT+F10 to open command console. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL to gain graphical access to User Accounts in Control Panel. Yeah, we can change/remove any account's password.
2. Better still, just crack the password!
Step 1. Use tools like samdump2/pwdump2 to retrieve password hashes. http://www.loginrecovery.com/
Step 2. Use ophcrack to crack the password.
