A Story I Got From My Friend's Blog

"A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered. Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the
horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible. Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, 'Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury
myself.'

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love. One day when we look back, we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts.

Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence. So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!"

Such an interesting story that sets me into my pensive mood again...

Why am I always rushing for the 6.25a.m. bus?
Why am I always trying to be in time for the 7.00a.m. bus No. 2?
Why must I push myself to the limits... oh wait I think I haven't push myself to the limits anyway hahaha. Coz I'm pretty slack. Just that the pace in S'pore is just too rushing. We rush for buses, rush to meet deadlines, rush to have a quick lunch. In a way we really push ourselves very hard, and has little time to decide if it is worth it or not.
There is a chinese saying "休息是为了走更长的路", I think it is time we all take a breather.
I shall not rush to catch the 6.25 bus on Monday.
I shall not rush to catch the 6.25 bus on Monday.
I shall not rush to catch the 6.25 bus on Monday.....

《冬季到台北來看雨- 戀雨》

About 1 mth plus ago, I wrote the ending quote for this story. Today, I saw the same quote in Kokoro when they are publicising the cd for Rain & Tears. And I feel it is a more complete quote.

錯過的愛,通常也是愛的過錯。
有些人,因為太愛對方而失去自己。
有些人,則因為太愛自己而失去對方。
幸福,其實是懂得割捨之後的滿足。

With the first line and last line, somehow this phrase seems more complete, more meaningful, more solemn.

How I wish I can buy the cd too. Then I get to hear the music every time. I am quite addicted to the music. Like intoxicated feeling.

I know the story will not have a happy ending. Said that before and reaffirmed after reading the story. Yet I still am hoping for the last 2 epi to faster come out.

I used to think Rain is God's Tears. Whenever a couple break up, the sky will be crying for the lost love. Maybe is my romantism ideology at work. Thus I used to feel a rainy day is a gloomy day.

And I guess the ending will be a raining day... pitter patter pitter patter

SHANIA TWAIN LYRICS - From This Moment On

Wanted to find the lyrics of this song after hearing the opening in the 2 recent weddings that I attended.

I was told that this is a popular wedding song, and after reading the lyrics i can understand why.

The opening has a very touching effect :

(I do swear that I'll aways be there.
I'd give anything and everything and I will always care.
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
for better or worse, I will love you with
every beat of my heart.)

Surprisingly though, i never heard this opening in the radio. Which is the reason why when they played the song, I never recognise it was Shania Twain's From This Moment On.

Here is the lyrics : (you can find it at the link attached to this blog too)

SHANIA TWAIN LYRICS

"From This Moment On"

(I do swear that I'll aways be there.
I'd give anything and everything and I will always care.
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
for better or worse, I will love you with
every beat of my heart.)
From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on

You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

Last note : I am only interested in the lyrics, not in getting married yet "p Anyway I doubt this will be my wedding song also. Too common haha.
